"Brikel" EAD produces electricity,
heat and briquettes. The technology of the production process uses
cleaning system to keep the nature pure.
Coal dust control is realized by dust - catching from the flue gas which
is wasted after both the electricity production nad briquette device
using filters "Lugry" type, made in GDR with 99,6% of effeciency for the
electricity production and filters HEG 106/55 type with 98% of
efficiency for briquette production.
Emissions due to the electricity production are conducted into a stack
150 m high which serves 6 stream generators.
Regional Inspection of Healt Industry realizes continuous emission
monitoring of the flue gas and level of SO2, NO2 and ян.
Considering the briquette production emissions are only analysed and
controlled for dust pollution.
A new fueling scheme for burning a composite of raw coal and dried
briquettable coal has been put into operation and has shown clear
ecological effect - air pollution decrease in the "Brikel" EAD area - 88
000 t coal dust and 10 000 SO2 emission less in a year.
An automatic station for continuous emission monitoring is situated in
the town of Galabovo.
Coal dust, SO2, NO2 and NO are the main pollutant searched and
controlled by the station.
Surface and subterranean water is analysed and controlled.
The main characteristics of reclaim water supply are analysed each month
in order to control water quality input/output of the dump site, where
it is partically clarified.
To meet technological production requirements a water layer is
maintoined which prevent the terrain around.
Nowadays "Brikel" EAD is accomplishing a reconstruction and renewal
program considering its production capacity for the purpose of keeping
in operation till 2007.
